Access Statement
Pat's Cottage is an authentic 18th century cottage and refects the nature and character of construction at that time.
External Access
- For unloading, cars can be parked on the road immediately outside the gate to the patio area.
- The patio is hard surfaced and level.
- The porch entrance is only a few strides from the gate.
- The porch floor is raised approximately 25 mm.
- The threshold to the back door is raised approximately 25 mm.
- The off road parking bay is covered with limestone chippings.
- The path from the parking bay to the patio area is natural stone slab paved through overhanging trees and shrubs.
Internal Access
Ground floor
- The external door into the kitchen is lower than normal and tall guests will need to stoop slightly.
- The internal door to the sitting room is lower than normal and tall guests will need to stoop slightly.
Stairs - Ground Floor to First Floor
- There are 14 treads with winders to the bottom three.
- There is a wall handrail one side.
First Floor
- The internal doors to the master bedroom and shower room are slightly lower than normal and tall guests will need to stoop slightly.
- In the master bedroom the featured floor joists of the second floor above protrude down lower than the underside of the ceiling boards and tall guests may need to stoop slightly.
- The shower tray in the shower room is slightly raised and tall guests will need to stoop slightly when using the shower.
Stairs - First Floor to Second Floor
- There are 10 treads with winders to the bottom five.
- There is a rope handrail one side.
Second Floor - attic/dormer bedroom
- The internal door directly from the stairs is low beneath the purlin.
- The ceiling in the centre is raised but is lower than normal.
- Boarded ceilings slope downwards away from the central raised ceiling and guests will need to stoop slightly at the edges of the room.
